LAS RUINAS

Las ruinas fueron construidas por la orden de religiosos de los jesuitas en argentina, paraguay y brasil.

Conocer estas magnificas ruinas revelan parte del esplendor del arte europeo llevado por los jesuitas al cono sur.

Atraídos por el evangelio los indios guaraníes ocupaban las reducciones jesuitas.

Las misiones eran autenticas ciudades construidas en medio de la selva entre los siglos XVII y XVIII. Además de la iglesia que era el centro de todo, havia hospitales, escuelas, casa, comida y hasta pequeñas industrias principalmente de hierro y tejido.

Solo en Paraguay y argentina más de 100 mil guaraníes vivían en estas comunidades.

Por el final del siglo XVIII luego de grandes conflictos entre Portugal y España donde murieron gran cantidad de aborígenes, los jesuitas fueron expulsados y acabaron por exterminar la mayor parte de los aborígenes.

Las ruinas de san Ignacio se ubican a 240 Km. de Pto Iguazú por la ruta nacional 12

Las excursiones se pueden realizar de forma particular o en grupos saliendo una ves por semana.

 

The ruins
The ruins were built by the religious order of the Jesuits in argentina, brazil and paraguay.
